Sendoff Party and Other Events
The sendoff party is right around the corner! If you haven’t RSVP’d yet, please do so. The event is going to be great! It will give those of you going to MSU this year or even next year a chance to meet some of the people that will be attending as well from the Memphis area. Currently we have a guest speaker scheduled that just finished her Freshman year. She’ll be able to give you a bit of insight of what’s going on around campus as well as ways to get plugged in and make your freshman year the best it can be!
In other news, we’re looking to have a young alumni happy hour in the downtown area in the next couple of weeks (around Mid-August). As the dates/times/locations are solidified, we’ll be posting more information here.
Hunters, shooters and those that would like to be, dust off your shotguns for a clay shooting extravaganza at the Grand Casino. The price is going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $70-110 per person depending on the number of clays. Shells are included as are guns if needed. All you need to do is show up. We’re currently targeting the week before Labor Day. Again, as prices and dates are solidified, we’ll be posting more information here.
For those in attendence, you know what a great event we had. The food was good, the presentation was great. A family event that was an all around good time. We were surprised by Mississippi’s former Lt. Governor, Amy Tuck! We also had the privilege of having MSU’s oldest living letterman in the crowd. Quite a distinguished group of folks made up the crowd of around 200. A couple of news channels were onsite as well, so you most likely caught a glimpse of us on the nightly news as well! Great press for that Bulldog Nation we’re working on building.
A special thanks to those that did attend as well as all those that put forth the effort to make this event happen. I want to especially thank Stephen Woo, Alison Hinson, Paul Hopkins and Tommy Roberson. There were a lot of folks on the MMC board that helped out with this, but these four in particular really went above and beyond.
